Wieden + Kennedy's tactical ad featuring Wayne Rooney breaks this morning, the day of England's World Cup match against Sweden. It's made a bit of a stir - front page on the national newspapers, also appearing as a centre spread souvenir poster in the Sun and the Guardian.

There's a bit of a tradition in England of hanging a flag out your window to support the national team. So we made ourselves a wee flag to hang out of our office window.

Not all the paper were keen though. If you look in todays Daily Mail, the poster is referred to as "revolting" You can always count on the Mail...

The US commentators tend to focus sometimes less on the football tactics and more about the background and social life of the players.

In this case (if I recall correctly), they were talking about how Rooney energises the team and keeps battling on, before going on to say that billboard posters of Rooney have been plastered all over England that morning as a build up to the match, showing a naked painted chest. There was no opinion given, it was more a statement.
